Dear Fellow Conscious Nomads,

We're Evelyn and Camila, the founders of CNC. More than business partners, we're friends united by a shared vision: to harness the transformative power of travel in ways that positively impact individuals and communities alike.

Our journey began with solo adventures and group expeditions that opened our eyes to the immense potential of conscious travel. Witnessing the power of cultural exchange and responsible practices firsthand ignited a desire to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable travel industry. We saw the potential for travel to foster deeper understanding, empower local communities, and inspire a sense of global citizenship. 

However, we've also seen firsthand how well-intentioned but poorly executed programs can negatively impact local communities and environments. From projects that harm local economies instead of stimulating them, to those that don't account for environmental degradation, we've witnessed the consequences of irresponsible tourism.

For the past decade, we've been fortunate to work alongside some of the most influential leaders in sustainable tourism, building a network of trust and expertise along the way. With this experience we’ve been able to identify where there are gaps in the travel industry and how to build creative solutions to fill them.

Evelyn & Camila

  • Both growing up in families that valued exploration, Evelyn and Camila developed lifelong passions for experiencing the world around them. 

    Evelyn has dedicated the past decade to studying and understanding the complexities of travel and its impact on people and places. Her academic and professional pursuits in international development, social impact, and experiential education, have taken her to many corners of the world, from local family farms in the Andes to the busy streets of New Delhi. 

    Camila has called many places home, and while working with various nonprofit organizations in Guatemala and beyond, she was deeply inspired by the revolutionary leaders and activists she encountered. She gained invaluable insights into the interconnectedness of human rights violations, environmental harm, and individual, community and government actions.

    Their individual paths traveling, working and volunteering around the world, eventually merged while working for Operation Groundswell, a trailblazer in the field of sustainable educational tourism.

    Now as the team leading CNC, with combined expertise and a larger network, Evelyn and Camila are committed to supporting sustainable travel programs and having a positive impact on the world while they do it!
